Cutty Sark now open to the public again
Charles Dickens was well accustomed to the sight of the tea clippers that plied up and down the Thames, and the famous ocean races involved. The trade hugely added to London's wealth and is an important part of our history. The Cutty Sark was only commissioned in 1869, the year before Dickens died and has a legendary history, deserving its place of honour and being one of our main tourist attractions.More about it in my next talk.
